It is essential for the production of red blood cells and is necessary for the body to break down carbohydrates, proteins and fats for energy. The RDA of vitamin B2 is 1.4mg and the SONA is 12.5mg.

Signs of a lack of vitamin B2 are sought on and lips, peeling or cracked lips, greasy red, scaly skin on the face and the side of the nose.

Good dietary sources of vitamin B2 are; Milk, plain natural yogurt, cheddar cheese, eggs, liver, spinach, romaine lettuce, broccoli, Swiss chard, kale, raspberries, strawberries, peas, crimini mushrooms, eggs and soy beans
