All About Copper

Copper is needed for iron absorption and the function of many enzymes in the body. Copper is also needed for collagen formation and protecting against osteoporosis and joint health. Copper protects against cardiovascular health as a deficiency raises LDL and reduces HDL cholesterol as well as impairing immunity.

The RDA of Copper is 900ug. Excess copper is as detrimental as insufficient.

Good food sources of copper are; Brasil nuts, almonds, Hazelnuts, Walnuts, pecans, Split peas, Buck wheat, Sunflower oil, Olive oil, Carrot, coconut, garlic, millet, ginger root, avocado.
