Vitamins B3 is also known as niacin also comes in the form of nicotinamide. It is important for regulating blood sugar levels, lowering cholesterol and improve circulation. Vitamin B3 is also important for energy production, hormone production. Needed to help many enzymes in the body function.
The RDA of vitamin B3 is 16mg and the SONA is 50mg.
A lack of vitamin D3 can lead to a sore painful tongue & in severe deficiency dementia, dermatitis (skin problems) and diarrhoea.
Good food sources of vitamin B3 are; Liver, tuna, halibut, tuna, salmon, chicken breast, turkey breast, mushrooms, tomatoes, green peas, broccoli, fennel, Swiss chard, peanuts, bran and wholemeal bread
