Vitamin E comes in many forms of tocopherol but alpha tocopherol is known to be one of the better sources. It is a vital antioxidant and may help to protect against hay fever and asthma. It prevents the blood from clotting unnecessarily, assists wound healing and skin health. Is also a vital anti-oxidant. The RDA of Vitamin E is 12 mg and the SONA is 60mg.
Good dietary sources of vitamin E are wheat germ oil, soybean oil, safflower oil, almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds, sweet potato, carrots, tomato, apples, peaches, wheat germ, avocado, porridge oats, brown rice, wholemeal bread, eggs, cheddar cheese, lentils and mung beans.
